The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) has developed a portal that makes registering your business (among other things) significantly easier for South Africans.
Easy Peasy Admin's team explored the website and learnt that entrepreneurs should be able to register a business in one day for only R175.
We know that many business owners and entrepreneurs wish that the portal had been available years ago; however, we are very excited for the new businesses that can now use and benefit from the portal. It is intuitive and easy to navigate. What really makes it shine is that South Africans will also be able to access several other business-related services, such as domain registration, the unemployment insurance fund (UIF), and business bank accounts, to name a few.
The portal will provide users access to the following features:
Their Profile
Company Registration
Tax Registration
Domain-Name Registration
B-BBEE Certificates
Compensation Fund
UIF Registration
Business Bank Accounts
Company Name Changes
Company/CC Address Changes
Annual Return Filing
Presently, six banks are participating on the platform:
Absa
First National Bank
Mercantile Bank [Capitec]
Nedbank
Sasfin Bank
Standard Bank
Upon successful company registration, an entrepreneur can select a bank of their choice.
We urge new businesses to start with the platform. It will make your life easier and eliminate the need to jump from one government institution to another to get your business up and running. Starting a new business can be daunting, and understanding all the steps and obtaining all the information can take hours. The integration of all these first but essential tools will, without a doubt, support entrepreneurs to come out of the blocks running for success.
